The Association for Humanitarian Lawyers has begun work on a few of the emerging issues listed below.

• Water including the oceans
• Saving the Geneva Conventions
• Counter-terrorism measures and human rights
• Privatization (developed vs. developing countries -- the gap gets wider)
• People Power - regime changes: Ukraine, Georgia, Bolivia; others?

While work has begun, there is much more needed to be done as well as the still undone work on self-determination and armed conflict at the UN level.
